Single Semester Outside Scholarships

Effective the 2025-2026 academic year, any outside scholarship awarded for a single semester must be explicitly stated on the outside scholarship letter or we must be sent via email explicit written confirmation of this from the outside scholarship organization. If applicable, adjustments will be made to your financial aid for that semester.

Single Semester Outside Scholarship Policy

If an outside scholarship is awarded for only one semester, written confirmation either on the outside scholarship letter, or via email from the awarding organization must be sent to outschol@pobox.upenn.edu Once received, our office will make any necessary adjustments to your financial aid package, which may include reducing your summer savings expectation, work-study funding, and/or institutional funding for undergraduate students for the single applicable semester. Unlike the typical Full-Year Processing Policy, the Single-Semester Processing Policy will mean that adjustments to aid will only take place during the semester in which the outside scholarship funds are attributed.
