The cost of attendance represents the total estimated cost of attending The University of Pennsylvania Master of Science in Nursing program. It includes both direct costs—such as tuition and fees, which appear on your student bill—and indirect costs—such as living expenses, books and supplies, etc. which are not billed by Penn.
Students should view the cost of attendance as their budget for the academic year. Penn Nursing also uses this figure to help determine a student’s eligibility for financial aid.
The costs listed below reflect the 2026-2027 academic year.
Tuition is assessed per semester and is based on the total number of Credit Units (CUs) you enroll in for that specific term. Your total semester charges will vary depending on your course load. Students enrolling in 4 CUs or above in a single term are capped at the 4 CU rate for both Fall & Spring. Summer term is charged per CU with no cap. Some courses may include additional section fees; if applicable, these will be listed in Path@Penn under the course ID.

These expenses are included in the COA only for academic terms in which the student is actively enrolled and participating in their program. Living expenses may not be included for periods of non-enrollment, leave of absence, or after program completion. Students enrolled less than 2 CUs per term are not eligible for living expenses in their Cost of Attendance.
