Alumni of most schools can order and pay for official transcripts online through the National Student Clearinghouse (NSC). Processing times will vary and are in addition to delivery times. Please see blow for more information about placing an order and delivery options.

As of Spring 2022, all careers are now presented in one academic transcript in order of program level. We can no longer issue separate transcripts by career. The appearance of the official University transcript will vary depending on the system of record at the time of attendance.

Forms, Holds, and Third-Party Requests

Forms and Identification Required by Transcript Processing Centers

A matching form or identification number is used by some transcript processing centers to match a graduate or professional school applicant's transcript with their application. Most forms or ID numbers can be submitted online with your order and delivered along with your official transcript.

Removing Holds on a Student Record

If you are on a hold you may not have access to order an official transcript or be able to view your grades or unofficial transcript on Path@Penn. Please note that grades and GPAs will not be disclosed over the phone, via email, or in person. Assistance with clearing a hold on your record is dependent on the type of hold. Requesting Release of Records by Special Investigators

We strongly encourage Special Investigators and other government employees to use DoD Safe when requesting transcripts. DoD Safe links should be sent to registrar@upenn.edu. Release forms should not be directly emailed as they may contain Personal Identifiable Information (PII) such as Social Security Numbers (SSN).

If your unit does not use DoD Safe, please email registrar@upenn.edu for support.

Penn Nursing Affiliates

Students who graduated from Chestnut Hill, Episcopal Hospital Lankenau, Mercy-Douglass, or St. Joeseph’s Schools of Nursing should contact the Barbara Bates Center for transcripts.

Students who graduated from the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (HUP) School of Nursing should contact UPHS Human Resources for transcripts by phone at 215-662-2191 before submitting a written request. Written requests for transcripts should be mailed to Human Resources-Records Section, 3930 Chestnut St., Philadelphia, PA 19104 and must include the following:

  • a written request for the specific record desired
  • authorization to release the same name, address, and title of the person to whom it is to be sent
  • include a check or money order in the amount of $2.00 for each transcript, made payable to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania
