University of Pennsylvania – Student Fee Disclosures (Pennsylvania Act 69 of 2024)
In accordance with Pennsylvania’s College Affordability and Transparency Act, the University of Pennsylvania provides the information below to promote transparency around tuition and student fees and to help students and families understand the full cost of attendance in advance of the academic term.
In addition to tuition, the University assesses mandatory student fees, which may include a General Fee, Technology Fee, Clinical Fee (where applicable), and Health Insurance Fee. General fee use includes staffing, operations, program support, campus facilities, maintenance and upkeep, or service improvements. Additional student account fees may apply based on a student’s program, enrollment status, or use of optional services, and not all fees apply to every student.
Student fees support essential academic, administrative, and student services that contribute to Penn’s educational mission and the overall student experience. Fee revenues may be used for staffing, operations, program support, and facility or service improvements.
All applicable charges appear on the student billing statement and are viewable through Penn’s online billing system. Fee amounts and assessments are subject to change, and updates will be reflected in the University’s published fee schedules and billing statements.
