The Cost of Attendance represents the total estimated cost of attending the Wharton MBA program.

It includes both direct costs—such as tuition and fees, which appear on your student bill—and indirect costs—such as living expenses, books and supplies, etc. which are not billed by Penn.

 Students should view the Cost of Attendance as their budget for the academic year.

The costs listed below reflect the 2025-2026 academic year.

Cost of Attendance Definitions 

Tuition: Covers full-time attendance at the Wharton School of Business. 


General Fee: Fees are assessed to all undergraduate, graduate, and professional students, and Penn’s non-instructional student support services. The General Fee for full-time students provides them with full access to a wide variety of services and resources, including counseling and wellness, multicultural resource centers, student activities, recreation and fitness, career services, learning support, and much more. The Clinical Fee is applied to all full-time, non-dissertation status students and for students enrolled in Student Health Plan (PSIP).


Health Insurance: Mandatory unless covered by an outside agency.  Students who opt for university health insurance should plan for the health insurance charge to be assessed in mid-September for the fall semester.


Housing and Food: Reflects an average off-campus residence.


Books and Supplies: Includes required texts and classroom supplies.


Personal Expenses: Includes telephone service, entertainment, laundry, clothing, and other general personal items.
