2026-27 Application Checklist
File the 2025-26 FAFSA no later than May 1, 2026. Contributors must provide consent for financial aid eligibility.

Note: The Final day to file a 2025-26 FAFSA is June 15, 2026. The FAFSA is no longer available to complete after this date.
You will be notified of any Summer 2026 federal loan eligibility in early May via your Penn E-mail address. To view and accept Summer 2026 federal loan please view our instructions here.

Federal Loan Eligibility for 2026-27 will be available in Mid-June 2026. You will be notified of any 2026-27 federal loan eligibility in mid-May via your Penn E-mail Address. After notification, you may then log into Path @ Penn to take action.
Alternative Student Loans
Summer 2026
Students may begin to apply for Summer 2026 Alternative loans as early as March 15, 2026. The University Loan office will begin to certify Summer 2026 loans in mid-April 2026 in order of receipt. Loan requests for Summer must be separate from Fall-Spring requests. Failure to comply with this loan schedule may affect loan eligibility. For students who submit a FAFSA but choose to borrow alternative loans, you must decline your federal loans in Path @ Penn, when notified of award, before an alternative loan will be certified.
Fall 2026-Spring 2027
Students may begin to apply for alternative student loans as early as April 15, 2026, for the 2026-27 academic year. The University Loan Office will begin to certify loans in late June 2026 in order of receipt. Applying for loans before the April 15th may result in your loan being denied by the lender. To weigh your alternative loan options please visit Elm Select. For students who submit a FAFSA but choose to borrow alternative loans, you must decline your federal loans in Path @ Penn, when notified of award, before an alternative loan will be certified.
