The Cost of Attendance represents the total estimated Cost of Attending the JD Program for one academic year. It includes both direct costs—such as tuition and fees, which appear on your student bill—and indirect costs—such as living expenses, books and supplies, etc. which are not billed by Penn.
Students should view the Cost of Attendance as their budget for the academic year. Penn Carey Law also uses this figure to help determine a student’s eligibility for financial aid.
The costs listed below reflect the 2026-2027 academic year.

All Joint Degree students are charged a one-time Joint Degree Program Fee of $8,000 at the outset of their joint degree, typically in the Fall of 2L year, thus giving them time to plan for the payment of this fee.
