The University of Pennsylvania awards a wide range of degrees at the undergraduate, graduate, professional, and doctoral level. Several schools also offer certificate programs. For information about any of the degree programs offered across Penn’s 12 schools, review this searchable listing of Academic Programs.
Degrees and certificates are awarded in May, August, and December. The University holds one Commencement ceremony every May. Visit the Office of the University Secretary's website for dates and more information.
In order to graduate and be awarded a degree, you must file a graduation application with the University. Many schools also require additional, supplemental forms and processes. We make every effort to link to school supplemental graduation sites here and advise students to monitor for school-specific emails and alerts.
Diplomas are managed by the Office of the University Secretary. Please visit their website for detailed information about diplomas.
