Transcript Structure at the University of Pennsylvania
Transcripts at Penn are organized by the academic level of the courses completed. Each transcript reflects coursework specific to that level. Examples of transcript levels include: Undergraduate, Graduate/Research, Professional, Medical, Dental, Law, and Veterinary.
When a student or alum requests a transcript, the recipient will automatically receive a comprehensive file that includes all transcript levels in which the student completed coursework.
- If a student has taken courses across multiple academic levels, each level will be presented separately within the same transcript file.
Example: A student who has completed both undergraduate and graduate coursework will receive one file containing distinct transcripts for each level. - If a student has completed multiple programs within the same academic level, all coursework will be combined into a single cumulative transcript for that level.
Please note: The University implemented a new student information system for all students enrolled from Fall 2010 onward. The format of your official transcript may vary depending on the system of record in place at the time of your attendance.
